For generations, our lawyers found direction in our culture of integrity. When something didn't seem right, they drew on the Firm's collective wisdom to guide their choices. But that's no longer enough. Our clients have a right to know what we stand for and how we ensure compliance in a complex and changing world. So we have created a Code of Conduct to be certain that all of our people – lawyers and non-lawyers alike – understand our policies, and the values and principles that are expected to guide our choices. The Code is required reading for every partner, as well as freelancers who work for us and employee worldwide. And we offer it here for others to review. The Code spells out our policies, legal and ethical obligations and responsibilities in a number of areas. It provides guidance on how to act when specific, clear policies are not available. And it reflects our commitment as a signatory to the UN Global Compact to align our policies and operations with the Compact's principles in the areas of human rights, fair labor, the environment and anti-corruption.
